Orono Planning Commissioner Bob Erickson
Orono Planning Commissioner Bob Erickson has brought strife to the Orono community by handing himself an Orono Fire Lane with Lake Minnetonka access to himself for his own wealth portfolio (see section Orono is Disappearing). This land grab took several moves including a paltry $100k sum for the sale of the land to himself personally. There have been complaints about the sale of the Stubbs Bay fire land filed with the Hennepin County Sheriff and the Minnesota State Auditor’s office because selling land to a sitting official appears to be against state statute. There has been calls for Mr. Erickson’s resignation but he continues to work on rewriting City of Orono code and voting on Planning Commission issues including handing land to an Orono City Council member Mr. Matt Johnson.
