BIG ISLAND

Big Island is a 56 acre Nature Park located on the eastern portion of Lake Minnetonka’s Big Island. The property is well known as the home of the former Big Island Veterans Camp, and has a long history of recreational use dating to the early 1900s. Through mutual collaboration between the the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District, the City of Orono and other partners, Big Island Nature Park is documented to preserve the natural resources and cultural heritage of the site.
